Happy New Year 2017

New Years 2017, I’m never a huge fan of new years as I find it can be very overrated. SO, this year we decided to have a quiet braai with family.

As we sat outside chatting away, with the fumes of good old South African meat on the braai, It was a scorcher of a day but as the sun went down we all get comfortable in the candle lit garden.

I decided to play my part in the kitchen and made a delicious potato bake, which was hugely creamy, which I and everyone else loved!

I also made a key lime pie. I know this is usually an American Tradition however I thought we would try it, and it turned out to be amazing.

And the best part is it was so easy to make! All it consisted of was

Crust

Tennis biscuits – crushed

I used butter to help it set

Tart

2 cans of condensmilk

1 tub of sour cream

Lemon and lime juice – as much as you would like

Lemon and lime zest

Bake for 10 minutes at 180 degrees

Then refrigerate for 3 hours.

It’s a perfect summer dessert!

We had a great evening and the best part is I woke up the next day and went for a stunning 4km run….no headache.

Now as we wind down for the last few days of holiday, I will spend my days on the beach, next to the pool and trying out new and exciting restaurants in and around Durban.

Bring on the relaxation!
